BHCC Votes!
ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge
In May 2020, President Eddinger accepted the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge’s Higher Education President’s Commitment and committed BHCC to 100% Student Voter Registration and Participation. BHCC joins more than 160 colleges and universities in supporting and promoting voter education and engagement. To support full student voter participation of all eligible students, ALL IN and its Higher Education Presidents Council has launched a call to action for higher education presidents and chancellors to fully engage students in electoral participation. Boston Votes Coalition
Bunker Hill Community joins the Boston Votes Coalition in the summer of 2020. Boston Votes is a non-partisan initiative bringing together students, faculty, and administrators at Greater Boston universities to encourage student voter registration and participation in the area.
Though 2018 saw historic campus voter participation, students are still part of the least engaged voting block in the country. Boston Votes wants to change that. Voting marks the first step to lifelong civic and community engagement and is central to sustaining our democracy. Youth who develop their voting muscle early reliably exercise their civic duties throughout the rest of their lives.
