BHCC recognizes many of our students come to us with previous work and education experiences. The Criminal Justice and Public Safety Department offers a variety of ways for students to use prior experience to earn credits toward degrees. Chapter 74 Articulation
Students attending Chapter 74 Vocational Technical High Schools may be eligible to earn credits in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Department.

To be eligible for Chapter 74 credit, students must meet the following requirements:
- Complete high school courses from an eligible Massachusetts Vocational/Technical High School from the programs listed above with a final grade of B (80 percent) or better.
- Graduate from high school with a minimum overall high school GPA of 2.0 (‘C’) on a 4.0 scale.
- Be accepted into a degree or certificate program at BHCC within two years of high school graduation.
- Submit official High School transcripts to the Admissions office at BHCC.
