Yes, it is a full-time, 61-credit program. For students with no prior College coursework, the Program is completed in 21 months. Five semesters include: Fall 1, Spring 1, Summer 1, Fall 2, and Spring 2. However, students may also complete this program on a part-time basis by taking fewer non- program (MLT) courses each semester while attending the College for additional semesters. Students who have been away from the educational environment for some time or who may need the opportunity to become acclimated to science courses are encouraged to go part-time. Students taking program (MLT) courses must complete them in the time frame and sequence listed in the Curriculum.

No, not at this time. All classes and internships are scheduled during the day.

Yes, however, students must first meet with their advisor.

The program begins in September. However, prerequisite courses and general education courses may be completed in advance.

The clinical practicum is scheduled for 16 weeks, 40 hours per week during daytime hours.

Students are placed at a site by the Department Chair. Students may request a particular site; however, accommodation of the request may depend upon several factors including site availability.

Yes, graduates of the program are eligible to take the CLT/MLT certification exam administered by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification.

Students are directed toward websites specializing in job opportunities for Medical Laboratory Technicians by the Department Chair. Additional job search assistance, including resume writing, may be obtained in the Career Center at the Charlestown Campus

Note: Exceptional performance by the student during the Clinical Practicum, often lead to job offers.
