Returning user? Log into Smart Choice

  • All users must first fill out the DISH Intake Form. This will verify BHCC affiliation as well as gather some additional information for our advocacy work and reporting requirements.
  • Once completed, you will receive a username and PIN to use in Smart Choice, our food pantry ordering software. This email will also have information about how to place an order.
  • If you do not have access to a computer to fill out the form, please contact the DISH Food Pantry at 857-262-1412 or dish@bhcc.edu.
  • Every student has 35 points per month to shop in the DISH Food Pantry. Faculty and staff have 30 points per month to use at the DISH Food Pantry.
  • You may use your points for up to 2 orders throughout the month. Please try to do substantial orders of at least 5-6 items per order. You are also able to use all of your points in one order. Points refresh on the first of every month, and do not roll over from month to month.
  • Once you complete your order, click on the green '"Checkout" button in the bottom right of the screen. You will then be able to select a day, time, and location (B101, Charlestown lockers, or Chelsea lockers) for your pick-up. You will receive an email reminder and a locker access code (if you selected a locker pick-up) via text and/or email on the day of your pick-up.
  • Check out our Smart Choice User Guide for more information

Our inventory will vary, but we typically offer the following types of items:

  • Fresh produce
  • Frozen proteins like chicken, beef and fish
  • Frozen vegetables
  • Pasta & rice
  • Canned beans
  • Tuna/canned chicken
  • Peanut butter
  • Dairy products such as shelf-stable milk, eggs, and cheese
  • Canned fruits & vegetables
  • Hygiene products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, and deodorant
  • Specialty items such as gluten/dairy/nut-free products and baby food/items

In order to ensure that we have enough for everyone, there may be limits placed upon popular items such as hygiene items, frozen meat/vegetables, and produce. These limits will be automatically placed on all Smart Choice accounts. Please email dish@bhcc.edu if you have any questions.

DISH Diaper Lottery

As of September 1, 2024, DISH will be moving to a Diaper Lottery system.

Instead of ordering diapers through SmartChoice along with your other grocery items, on the 1st of each month, we will open up a Google Form where you can enter our DISH Diaper Lottery for that month. Diapers will no longer count towards your monthly DISH points, and diaper pickups will not count towards the DISH 2-orders-per-month limit.

You must be a registered DISH user in order to enter the lottery. To register for the DISH, please fill out our Intake Form here. We ask that only those with young children in their immediate household enter the diaper lottery. The form will ask for your basic information and what size of diapers/Pull-Ups you are interested in. You will have to re-enter the lottery on a monthly basis.

We will then randomly select approximately 45 people who will receive diapers for that month. The number of people selected will depend on the quantity of diapers we have funding for that month. If you are selected, you will not be eligible to receive diapers the following month, but can reapply in 2 months time.

We will contact those who were selected to receive diapers, and they will schedule a time later that month to come pick them up from DISH or our Charlestown or Chelsea lockers.

Diapers have become an incredibly popular item at the DISH, and because we have limited resources available, we want to ensure the process for ordering diapers is as fair and equitable as possible.

Please note: Entering the Diaper Lottery does not guarantee you will be selected and receive diapers that month.
