New International Student Enrollment Checklist

  • Your BHCC username and password can be found on your Acceptance Letter. If you cannot find your username and password, please email international@bhcc.edu.
  • Use your BHCC username and password to log in to your BHCC Email. BHCC email is the official method of communication for the college. Information about your courses will be sent to your college email only.
  • Log in to your myBHCC (SelfService) Account. This account gives you access to do the following actions:
      • Plan and register for classes and live Chat with Academic Advisors.
      • View class schedule & program requirements, view unofficial copy of your transcript.
      • View and pay your bill
  • If you are outside of the U.S.A make sure to apply for and receive your F1 visa in a reasonable amount of time to start your semester. If you are in the U.S.A. and are transferring your SEVIS record (I-20) from another institution to BHCC, make sure to request the transfer as soon as possible. If you are in the U.S.A. on another visa and are requesting a change of visa status please make sure to consult with your attorney before registering for classes if your change of status has not yet been approved.
  • Arrival in Boston – We recommend that you arrive in Boston two weeks before the start of the semester to allow enough time for you to settle in and attend the mandatory New International Student Orientation. The New International Student Orientation will take place the week before classes start.
  • Housing– Make sure to arrange for housing before traveling to the U.S. 

 

  • To view all placement options, register to take a math placement test and complete your English placement, visit the Assessment and Testing Center
  • Students who previously completed coursework at colleges and universities in the United States or abroad should review the Placement Testing Exemptions webpage to determine if they qualify for a math and/or English placement exemption and submit unofficial transcripts. 
  • This requirement must be completed before you can register for classes.
  • New students are required to attend a group advising session (called a Start Now Session). You will meet academic advisors and learn how to plan classes and register. 
  • Check your email for more information about signing up for group advising sessions. 
  • During the New International Student Orientation, you will learn how to maintain your F1 status, how to access campus services and resources, and strategies for being a successful student at BHCC. The New International Student Orientation will take place during the week before classes start. More information about how to sign up for New International Student Orientation will be sent to you by email.

  • Convocation is an event that celebrates the start of the new semester. It is your official welcome to Bunker Hill Community College. Bring your friends and family members, meet your professors, learn about student clubs and organizations, enjoy music, food and meet your fellow classmates.
