Course Reserves

Course Reserves

The Library's course reserves are a faculty-loaned collection of items such as textbooks, printed articles, and other physical course materials that BHCC students can borrow for 2 hours at a time in the Library to complete assigned readings and homework. While the Library does not purchase materials for faculty members' reserves, we can place items that we already own in our general collection in the course reserves designated for faculty members’ courses. Otherwise, the collection is completely faculty-loaned/donated. You can email bhcclibrary@bhcc.edu if you have any questions about our course reserves.

How Do I Find Course Reserves in the Library Catalog?

You can search for Course Reserves by navigating to the Course Reserves section on the homepage of the Library Catalog. You can view all Course Reserves at once by default or locate your course’s subject.

Tips for Finding Course Reserves in the Catalog:

  • If your professor has indicated that your course’s texts and other materials are in our Course Reserves, it’s easiest to find them by using our Library Catalog’s search bar and doing a title search.
  • Course Reserves show up in the catalog with the location labeled as “Course Reserves”. The call numbers for Course Reserves start with “RES”.
  • If a Course Reserve is labeled as being part of a different professor’s section or isn’t the same course at all, you can still check it out! You do not have to enrolled in a specific professor’s course or section to check out its reserve.
