Friday, August 26, 2011
The 20,000-circulation BHCC Magazine has won a major design award from The University & College Designers Association (UCDA), President Mary L. Fifield announced this week. The judges evaluated nearly 1,100 entries and gave out 188 awards. BHCC’s winning entry, which received an Award of Excellence from the UCDA, was a two-page spread in an article entitled “This Way to the Future,” in the Spring/Summer 2011 issue of the magazine. The article dealt with an innovative class on iPhone programming taught at the College.
The UCDA is the only association in this country for professionals involved in the creation of visual communications for educational institutions. It has a membership of more than 1000 designers throughout the United States and Canada.
The BHCC Magazine has won numerous awards over the last several years, including a top award – Gold – for “Best Magazine” in 2010 from the National Association for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). In 2009, BHCC Magazine also received a Gold award for Best Overall Magazine and a Silver award for Best Design from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District 1, which includes northeastern United States and parts of Canada.
