Bunker Hill Community College Takes Top Communications Awards

Friday, October 19, 2012

Two posters produced by Bunker Hill Community College have won Gold Awards in the annual regional communications competition sponsored by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR). A Silver Award went to a college promotional video that aired on WBZ-TV, Boston’s CBS station.

The College took top honors in NCMPR’s regional competition last year as well, and has garnered numerous awards in NCMPR’s national competitions over the last decade and more.  This year’s awards were announced October 15 during the NCMPR regional annual conference in Pittsburgh after 20 judges from across the country evaluated entries in 42 categories.
The Gold Awards went to a poster highlighting a Black History Month art exhibit featuring young artists of color in the College’s Art Gallery, and to a series of posters raising awareness about the environmental cost of paper.

Winning a Silver Award in the College Promotional Video category was “Boston Business Journal’s Top of the List,” which celebrated Bunker Hill Community College’s dramatic enrollment increase and showcased the College’s “Learn and Earn” internship program with Massachusetts Competitive Partnership (MACP) corporations, its successful Learning Communities, model Veterans Center, and transfer opportunities that have taken students to MIT, Mt. Holyoke, Amherst College and elsewhere. The video aired on the Boston CBS station in January of 2012.

NCMPR represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges and has more than 1,550 members from nearly 650 colleges.
