Professional Development Day Explores Essentials of Student Success
Tuesday, June 23, 2015
In small groups, participants explored six working concepts that have emerged out of collective efforts to increase student success: (1) Inquiry and Evidence-Based Practice; (2) Collaborative Leadership and Innovation; (3) Student-Centered Curricular Design; (4) Holistic and Integrated Student Development; (5) Culturally Inclusive Pedagogical Practice; and (6) Reciprocal and Sustainable Partnerships.
The six working concepts offer a framework for integrating ongoing efforts to achieve inclusive excellence. The discussions, in which 137 faculty and staff participated, were facilitated by a team of 18 faculty and professional staff from across disciplines and work areas. Summaries of the discussions will be posted in the BHCC Portal.
