Wednesday, May 27, 2020

On Thursday, May 21, 2020, Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) awarded 1,526 degrees and certificates to the Class of 2020 during a virtual ceremony to commemorate the 46th Commencement Exercises.

BHCC President Pam Eddinger opened the ceremony with the annual “ritual of gratitude,” where graduates thank family and friends for their support throughout their educational journey. More than 100 faculty and staff members shared videos and photos of the sign of love to include in the ceremony.

“I hope you will share this event with your friends and family today and make this virtual celebration a part of your treasured memories,” said President Eddinger.

Dr. James Canniff, Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, highlighted early college student Melanie Sola, a senior in the Early College program at Madison Park Technical Vocational high school in Boston. Sola earned her associate’s degree at BHCC and will graduate from high school in June. She is planning to attend Northeastern University on a full scholarship, where she will be studying engineering.

Graduates also heard from Board of Trustee Chair Bill Walczak and Student Government Association President Melissa Balla. The virtual ceremony concluded with conferring the Degrees of Associate in Arts, the Degrees of Associate in Science, and certificates in the students’ respective fields of study.
