Preparing to take office in January, Governor-elect Maura Healey announced Friday, November 18, that 15 committee co-chairs would join her transition team focusing on equity and affordability and how to ease economic burdens for Massachusetts residents, specifically communities that have been historically marginalized.
Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) President Pam Eddinger will co-chair one of six transition committees called “Jobs and a Flourishing Economy for All,” which will identify how to “build a dynamic economy that reduces costs for people and businesses while lifting up our workers.” Joining President Eddinger on this committee is A.J. Enchill, president and executive director of The Berkshire Black Economic Council; JD Chesloff, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable; and Chrissy Lynch, chief of staff at the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.
“I look forward to working with this diverse team on balancing the economic playing field for individuals and businesses in Massachusetts,” said BHCC President Pam Eddinger. “Community colleges have a special responsibility for workforce development and through partnerships with business and industry, we provide job training, retraining, certification, and skills improvement.”
The other five transition committees are called: “How We Get Around,” “Affordable, Abundant Housing,” “Climate Readiness, Resiliency and Adaptation,” “Thriving Youth and Young Adults,” and “Safe and Healthy Communities for All Ages.”
