Bunker Hill Community College Employees Recognized for Excellence in State Government

Commonwealth of Massachusetts Performance Recognition Program Honors Three BHCC Leaders with State-Wide Honors; Nine more honored for outstanding performance
Twelve Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) employees were honored in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Performance Recognition Program—a state-wide program that formally recognizes Commonwealth employees for their extraordinary contributions to public service.
The Commonwealth-wide awards are given annually, with nominations reviewed and approved by an independent selection committee. BHCC leaders received three of the four state-wide awards this year:
Keisa Davis-Rezendes, Associate Director, Student Financial Services
Governor Paul Cellucci Award for Leadership & Mentoring in State Government
Nahomi Carlisle, Esq., Associate VP and Chief Equity and Compliance Officer
Manuel Carballo Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service
Lee Santos Silva, Professor of English and former Director of the Center for Equity and Cultural Wealth
Commonwealth Equity in Governance Award
Davis-Rezendes, Carlisle, and Santos Silva were part of a select group of almost 90 employees across the Commonwealth who were celebrated at the 39th annual Governor's Performance Recognition Program, hosted by the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, at the Gardner Auditorium in the Massachusetts State House on November 8, 2023.
In addition, six individual employees and a group of three were honored with the Commonwealth Citation for Outstanding Performance, which recognizes their exceptional contributions and achievements. The individual winners are:
- Anthony Cobuccio, Manager, Central Services
- Melissa Coloñ, Associate Professor, Behavioral Sciences
- Ryan D’Arcy, Academic Counselor, Advising & LifeMap
- Anthony Fontes, Professor & Chairperson, Business Administration
- Tim Ogawa, Chief Information Officer, Information Services
- André Robinson, Professor, History & Social Services
The employees nominated as a group are:
- Jillian Glaze, Senior Director, Student Financial Services
- Melissa Holster, Executive Director, Student Financial Services
- Arlene Vallie, Dean of Research & Assessment, Academic Affairs
