BHCC Named a Top Women-Led Business for the Sixth Consecutive Year

For the sixth consecutive year, Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) has been recognized among the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses by The Women’s Edge and the Boston Globe Magazine, ranking 80th in this year’s list. This ongoing recognition underscores the College’s strong commitment to promoting gender equity, inclusive leadership, and innovative institutional impact.

Student Success BuildingThe Women’s Edge Top 100 Women-Led Businesses list honors pioneering women executives and organizations across Massachusetts that demonstrate leadership excellence, strong performance, and a commitment to empowering women in the workplace. Past recognitions have highlighted BHCC’s role within a distinguished group of Boston-area higher education institutions, including UMass Lowell, Simmons University, Suffolk University, Regis College, and Wellesley College, and have showcased the College’s collaborative position among leaders advancing equity throughout the region. 

BHCC’s sustained presence on this list reflects the leadership contributions of President Pam Eddinger and the College’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to life-changing education. The College is proud to be recognized once again among the state’s most impactful women-led institutions, an honor that underscores both its mission and momentum.

The event’s keynote speaker was Deesha Dyer, President of Hook & Fasten Impact Consulting and former White House Senior Social Secretary. Her talk brought humor and reflection on her personal journey of overcoming self-doubt, and on her recently published book, Undiplomatic: How My Attitude Created the Best Kind of Trouble.

Rankings are determined through a rigorously developed formula that evaluates revenue or operating budget, the number of in-state employees, workplace and management diversity, and forward-thinking initiatives. The Women’s Edge, a nonprofit organization that supports and elevates female business leaders, partners with the Globe Magazine annually to highlight organizations that embody these standards of excellence. This longstanding program has been celebrating outstanding women-led organizations for 25 years.
