What topics are covered in the PMP exam?

The Project Management Institute (PMI) structures the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam based on the PMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), which is updated regularly to reflect current project management practices. The exam assesses a candidate's ability to lead and direct projects across various methodologies, including predictive (waterfall), agile, and hybrid approaches.

The PMP exam is divided into three main domains, each with a specific percentage of questions:

People (42% of the exam): This domain focuses on the soft skills and leadership competencies required to effectively lead and manage a project team.

Process (50% of the exam): This is the largest domain and covers the technical aspects of managing a project. It reinforces the methodologies and steps involved in successfully executing projects.

Business Environment (8% of the exam): This domain highlights the connection between projects and the broader organizational strategy.

Note: Percentages may change so check with your instructor for the latest information.
