About the Tutoring and Academic Support Center
The Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) supports and enhances student learning and academic success by offering a variety of traditional and non-traditional services to all BHCC students.
The TASC offers tutorial assistance, small group workshops, and academic support to students currently enrolled in courses at the college. Students are offered a wide range of services to support their work in basic academic skills as well as on course-specific work in their programs.
These services are offered in a student-centered atmosphere. Our tutors consist of peer tutors and professional tutors.
Popular subjects are English and writing, mathematics (College level and higher), Accounting, Biology, Business, CIT, Nursing, Psychology and Education. Other subject areas may be added on an as-needed basis. The TASC also offers 18 computer stations where students may type and print papers, conduct research, or access the Internet.

Submit to the Nursing Writing Review - The Nursing Writing Review is an asynchronous service where students submit Nursing or Health Sciences-related written work and receive feedback from a qualified Nursing tutor. Work submitted to Nursing and Health Sciences tutors will be critiqued primarily for strengths and weaknesses related to Nursing and Health Sciences content. The tutor will give the student steps to follow to improve the submission and provide critique on items such as Introduction/Conclusion, Content Development, Organization, and Use of Resources.
Schedule a Session with a Nursing Tutor - Students will have the opportunity to book a session in advance with a qualified Nursing or Health Science tutor in any of our Nursing or Health Science subject areas. Sessions can be booked in 30-minute increments, up to 24 hours in advance, and will utilize the features of our Brainfuse platform, including the Whiteboard, chat, audio, and video.
Scheduled Support for ESL Nursing Students - Grounded in nursing specific scenarios and content, improve fluency, speed, & critical thinking with specialized tutors.
