Nurse Education

Why BHCC Nursing?

BHCC prepares graduates to make an impact, and provides the skills and experience needed to excel in the profession. In the Nurse Education Associate of Sciences Degree program, you’ll learn from exceptional faculty and complete over 500 hours of clinical training, becoming part of a tight-knit community of teachers, students, practitioners and mentors.

The BHCC nursing program graduates earn outstanding scores on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), with first-time pass rates ranging between 98 and 100 percent. The program offers students varied learning experiences which allows students to explore their academic interests and career goals.  The nursing program integrates nursing theory, practice and science with a broad liberal arts education. It prepares a highly competent professional with the education necessary to meet the increasing need for quality healthcare in society today.

Career Outlook

Please consult the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook at www.bls.gov/ooh/ for specific occupational information.

Career Exploration

Advising & LifeMap works with currently enrolled students and BHCC alumni to help them connect their Bunker Hill Program of Study, or major, to their long-term career goals. Bunker Hill Community College has Pathways, which are broad categories used to group Programs of Study by similar fields of interest. Through the Career Advising 101- Career Exploration Workshop, career assessments, and advising appointments students will be able to identify the BHCC Program of Study that is right for them, explore different career pathways related to their degree, and begin to research employment data like common work skills and educational level.
