Awards
Since the Office’s founding in 2008, it has received several national and regional recognitions and awards:
- Awarded the Higher Education Community Partnership Innovator Award from the Massachusetts Service Alliance at the 2015 Massachusetts Conference on Service and Volunteerism. The award recognizes the Office’s partnership with Boston Housing Authority’s Volunteer Interpreter Program.
- Named to President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2014
- Classified as a Community Engagement Institution in the categories of Curricular Engagement and Outreach and Partnerships from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching 2008 and reclassified as a Community Engagement Institutions in 2015.
- Awarded a Massachusetts Campus Compact AmeriCorps *VISTA 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012
- Awarded a $2,500 gift from the Wal-Mart Foundation and the HandsOn Network in 2010
