We leverage the remarkable diversity of biological systems, zooming into the complex immune systems in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, to develop a next-generation cell engineering toolbox capable of dynamically sensing cell identities and cell states and controlling cell phenotype and function by editing the genome, transcriptome, and proteome.
