Drop-in Workshops for Add/Drop Schedule Adjustment
When: January 30th, 1 – 3 p.m.

From on January 30, students are able to adjust their schedule by adding and removing classes with no consequence! Come get help from the HOPE team adjusting your schedule during these drop-in workshops! January 30th is the last day for schedule adjustment, so don’t miss out!

Bolivar Scholarship Breaking Bread
When: Thursday, February 2, 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Where: La Fabrica Central, 450 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge

Join us for this special Breaking Bread dinner, as we celebrate the life of Bolivar Soto, an amazing BHCC student who sadly lost his life, but not before inspiring so many of us at Bunker Hill, and in the greater Boston community. We honor his memory by providing a scholarship in his name, and on this evening we will kick off the next cycle of the scholarship by gathering to remember Bolivar and award the next recipient of the scholarship!

The Journey Forward: Where Do We Go From Here?

The Journey Forward looks to explore education in the United States from a historical lens. The trials and tribulations enslaved peoples faced, to integration efforts, and now modern challenges and barriers. Come explore education as it relates to African Americans and learn about where we go from here! The keynote speaker, Dean of Africana Studies at the Berklee College of Music, Dr. Emmett G. Price III, will lead this engaging discussion along with guest panelists, renowned therapist, mental health advisor and best-selling author, Celeste Viciere, BHCC Academic Advisor, Ashlee Owens, Associate Director of the HOPE Initiative, Misael Carrasquillo, and Executive Director and Chief of Police, Robert Barrows.

Job & Career Readiness Workshop Series 

Join the HOPE Initiative for a Job and Career Readiness Series. In these workshops, we will go over how to build your resume, maximize your social media network, and work on providing you with the tools to get hired! Food will be provided to all those who attend.

The HOPE Initiative is offering HOPE Scholars a FREE opportunity for peer networking, experiential learning and cultural enrichment, through exploring the city of New York Immersion in the community will include historic walking tours, viewing exhibits at the Hip Hop History museum, dining at local restaurants and much more.

Scholars can connect with a HOPE Advisor in E236F.
