BHCC Student Vets Attend Elite Colleges through Posse Foundation

The Posse Foundation has selected Gregory Hardy and John Brindisi as Posse Veterans Scholars for their leadership in their places of work, communities and families. Each Posse Veterans Scholar attends Vassar College, Wesleyan University or Dartmouth College with a “posse” of 10 fellow veterans on a four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarship. Brindisi will attend Vassar College in fall 2016; Hardy will attend Wesleyan University.

Bunker Hill Community College Announces ABA Approval of Paralegal Program

The Paralegal Studies Program at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) has been granted approval from the American Bar Association (ABA). The official recognition, on February 9, 2016, makes BHCC’s program one of just four community college-based programs in Massachusetts approved by the national association.

BHCC Basketball’s All Stars Go for It—Tonight!

They sustained a ten-game winning streak, beat the New England powerhouse Community College of Rhode Island for the first time in the College’s history, and rose to 8th position in Division III of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rankings, ending the season with a record of 25-10. It has been a very good season for BHCC Men’s Basketball team - The Bulldogs.

Bunker Hill Community College Students Win Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Awards

Bunker Hill Community College students Tung Doan and Sondos Alnamos have been honored by the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). Doan was honored by PTK as a 2016 Coca-Cola New Century Scholar for having earned the top All-USA Community College Academic Team score in Massachusetts. Alnamos was named a 2016 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Bronze Scholar for having scored in the top 150 in the All-USA Community College Academic Team competition.

Bunker Hill Community College Welcomes Sybrina Fulton, Mother of Trayvon Martin

During a daylong visit to Bunker Hill Community College that included a classroom visit, a luncheon with students and faculty members and an address in the College gymnasium, Sybrina Fulton told students, “Protect your life. It is a valuable gem.” Fulton is the mother of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old high school student killed in a violent confrontation in 2012 in Sanford, Florida.
