The BHCC Magazine, a publication of Bunker Hill Community College, was awarded the Silver Paragon Award at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) 2017 National Conference, held in Charleston, South Carolina.

BHCC Reimagines General Education
On Thursday, March 30, 2017, BHCC faculty and staff gathered for Spring 2017 Professional Development Day. Organizers of the event took a non-traditional approach to engaging the BHCC community in reimagining the College’s General Education Program through participation in decentralized, collaborative and participant-centered activities and discussions.
Building the Framework for Success
On March 30, 2017, Bunker Hill Community College President Pam Eddinger joined leaders of the AANAPISI Grant Project to announce the launch of BHCC’s Title III AANAPISI Grant.
BHCC Students Named to Phi Theta Kappa’s All-Massachusetts Academic Team
Thirty-two of the highest academic achievers of the community college system were named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-Massachusetts Academic Team. Among the students honored were BHCC’s Nadine Borges and Linh Dang. The students were presented with medallions and certificates at the Grand Staircase of the Massachusetts State House, accompanied by their families, community college presidents, Phi Theta Kappa college staff, legislators and staff. Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of Two-Year Colleges. Students with grade point averages of 3.5 or higher are invited to join Phi Theta Kappa.
Reading Allowed with Terry McMillan
The author of several New York Times bestsellers Terry McMillan spoke on April 13, 2017, as part of BHCC’s Compelling Conversations Speaker Series. Giving students, faculty and staff the exclusive opportunity to hear her read excerpts from a novel in progress, McMillan shared a chapter from a book she is working on.
BHCC Welcomes Boston Public Schools Students
Approximately 151 seniors from 11 of Boston’s high schools packed the BHCC gymnasium on Friday, April 7, 2017, for BPS Day. BPS Day gives Boston’s high school seniors an opportunity to meet with admissions counselors, Success Coaches, faculty and current students.
