Inaugural “Voices on the Wall” Event Celebrates Multilingual Storytelling at BHCC
Friday, March 21, 2025
On March 5, 2025, Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) gathered for an inaugural event called Voices on the Wall. Inspired by a simple observation in a language lab, the event led to a collaborative, multilingual dialogue celebrating cultural diversity and the power of shared narratives.
The event was initiated and organized by BHCC’s Student Trustee Javkhlan “Jay” Batsaikhan to celebrate the diverse voices of the BHCC community as a united whole. It was a collaboration involving many departments, faculty members, staff, administrators, dedicated student volunteers, and, most importantly, talented authors and readers.
The event showcased various creative works across multiple genres and written in several languages, including Bengali, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. It truly reflected the multilingual and multicultural spirit of our campus.
At its core, Voices on The Wall belongs to the students and the BHCC community. It is a testament to the power of storytelling and language in fostering connection and understanding.
